book blurb

This fast-paced and engrossing narrative of murder investigation and steamy adult romance will stimulate the mind and get the body yearning for more.

Paralegal Daisy Sinclair works for a well-known successful criminal defense attorney in downtown Fort Worth. She works hard and plays even harder, but has a code to never mix business with pleasure. This code is tested when her boss hires Warren Cole as a criminal investigator to partner with her in a case defending a prominent figure against a double murder charge.

Investigator Cole is a gorgeous six foot five former homicide detective and Navy SEAL with piercing emerald green eyes, unkempt jet black hair, caramel tan complexion and rock hard body. When Daisy catches herself imagining him handcuffed to her bed while investigating the crime scene, she soon realizes mixing business with pleasure maybe unavoidable.

Daisy is a strong-willed free spirit who plays by her own rules and Warren is a cocky alpha male who is accustomed to going by procedure. This combination makes for an interesting and entertaining investigative team. As they set out to prove their client’s innocence, they find themselves on a suspenseful winding journey of the many suspects and motives to discover things may not be what they seem, or are they?

Between finding out who committed the murders and the provocative sexcapades this novel is sure to satisfy.

A transplanted Scot, Margery now lives on a lake in Canada.

Although she grew up as far away from the old west as possible, she’s always had a love affair with the men and women who settled the untamed land west of the Mississippi. Glued to TV westerns like Maverick, Rawhide and Gunsmoke, and reading stories of Annie Oakley, Roy Rogers and Rin Tin Tin, it was only natural that when she started writing, she wrote what she loved to watch and read. When she’s not writing or travelling in search of the perfect setting for her next novel, you can usually find her wielding a pair of knitting needles or a pool cue.

HANNAH’S HERO by MARGERY SCOTT

Margery's Top Ten List
1.   When I was growing up ...  I used to read medical books for enjoyment because I planned to be a doctor when I grew up.
2.   I once ... played pool in a national championship in Las Vegas.
3.   Readers would be surprised to know I ... was a movie extra, and I was lucky enough to be in a movie with Sean Connery.
4.   Everyday I ... play a few games of Candy Crush before I start working J.
5.   I like to ... dance – ballroom, rock and roll, country line dance. The genre doesn’t matter as long as it’s good music.
6.   I have always wanted to ... be able to sing.
7.   I will never forget ... crossing the Atlantic on a ship when I was ten years old with my mother and my older sister (my father was already in Canada.) My mother and sister got seasick the first night out, and I spent the entire week at sea running wild with no supervision whatsoever. I had a great time. J
8.   The best thing about writing is escaping to an imaginary world where I can live for a while.
9.   When I am not writing, I like to knit, travel, shoot pool, and do renovations (I’ve always enjoyed working with tools.)

10.           I am working on … two books at the same time right now - Unwanted Bride, book 4 of the Rocky Ridge Romance series, and the first book of a new contemporary western romance series to be released in May.

Snippet from HANNAH’S HERO

Hannah sat in the saddle, her hands wrapped around the saddle horn. She felt so weak and unsteady she was sure she’d fall off if she didn’t hold on tight.
With one swift movement, the man had swung himself into the saddle behind her. She’d felt him move, and a few seconds later, his body had pressed against hers, hard and warm.
She wanted nothing more than to bury herself in that warmth, but instead she jerked away from the contact and held herself as stiff as possible. Heavens, she didn’t even know this man.
“Here,” she heard him say behind her as he draped his duster around her shoulders, “lean back against me. This duster isn’t big enough for both of us.”

Propriety warred with her need for warmth. Propriety lost.
